Next maintains guidance as quarterly sales rise
Next Q1 sales to Apr 27 were up 5.7%, above the predicted guidance of 5% for the period, with online sales up 8.8% during the quarter, while retail sales remained flat.
Wickes holds firm on outlook despite dip in sales
Wickes group sales were down 4.2% for the 16 weeks to Apr 20, but it maintains its profit expectations for the full year despite an “uncertain” trading environment.
Amazon sales surge driven by AI and advertising
Amazon sales for Q1 to Mar 31 were up 13% to $143.4bn (£114.8bn), helped by the appeal and success of its AI and advertising capabilities.
Mulberry reveals UK and APAC weakness
Mulberry sales were down 4% for the year to Apr 1, but retail sales in total rose 0.3%, with international retail sales up 7.2%, but the UK was down 3.2%.

Lanvin Group maintains growth momentum in 2023
Wolford and Sergio Rossi owner Lanvin Group FY23 revenues grew 1% to €426m and reduced its EBITDA loss from €71m in 2022 to €64m.

How to get your brand on the May Editorial Calendars
We’re now well into Spring, and there are two long bank holiday weekends to enjoy this month, and with a bit of luck, we’ll have great weather for at least one of them.
To get the best chance for a download, add images that are related to the summer, and make sure they’re accompanied by any keywords relating to being out of the house and into the garden and the great outdoors, including garden, garden parties, barbecues (don’t forget to add all of the other spellings BBQ, Bar-B-Que, etc.) picnics, outdoors.
Summer holidays are on the horizon, so campaign images that include the beach or the outside world will be used. Upload any images you have of summer outfits, holiday clothes, festival clothes, sandals, beachwear, swimsuits, bikinis, linen, and sandals.
With the cost-of-living increases not everyone will be going abroad so still keep keywords and phrases like “staycation” “holistay” “holiday at home” to your keywords, also think about uploading images more appropriate to a UK holiday like cardigans and hoodies for the colder UK evenings.
May is also the start of wedding season, so if you have any wedding-related items, then get ready to promote them along with any wedding keywords, bridal, bride, groom, hen party, stag do, etc.
